Flora Fauna Project

We cannot save the planet until we love it, until we truly love.  - THE SEI

Maria Nilsson Waller join forces with electronica group THE SEI in an immersive stage experience exploring our relation to nature and environment, tipping point and the fear of the wild through eyes of botany and 80’s sci-fi.

The performers exist in a interconnected matrix of set, light and sound, affecting each other and the space in a chain of cause and effect.

FLORA FAUNA PROJECT is exploring the body as way to return to nature, to the animal instinct inside, to unlock the body’s intelligence and better learn to listen the natural world again. Flora Fauna is a highly visual and thought provoking experience bringing some of our times greatest challenges to light. The project is not only a seductive dance/music performance, the shows also follow up with engaging audience conversations and open workshops. Looking at the body as a way to return to nature, empathy is triggered for each other and the earth. The artists involved not only want to make work that entertains or comments, but provokes action for a more autonomous and sustainable world.

Flora Fauna Project is currently working with 80 5th grade students in Ballyfermot, in a unique initiative by Dublin City Council’s Children’s Art in Libraries Project. After 2 months of workshops that brings the children through the creative process and score, the students will perform their version of Flora Fauna in February 2019 together with professional dancers and THE SEI.
